Robert William  Koss
Robert (Bob) William Koss, 86, of Mindoro died Saturday, June 18, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.

Bob was born on September 25, 1929 to Fred and Emma (Worthman) Koss. He was raised on the Koss farm on Sand Lake Road. He married Marcella Elvera Storandt on July 25, 1951, and then moved to Mindoro where they farmed until his retirement. He and Marcella were looking forward to the upcoming celebration of 65 years of marriage. Bob was a lifelong horseman and enjoyed raising and training Percherons, which he used for farming, skidding logs, and pleasure.

Bob served on the Mindoro Creamery board for many years, assisted with the Mindoro
4-H club, he was a longtime member of the Pine Tree Riders Club and of the Percheron Horse Association of America. He enjoyed driving teams of horses in local parades, horse shows, and traveling to horse sales with his family and friends. In addition to his love of horses, Bob enjoyed country and polka music and traveling the rural countryside to visit with the many Amish families that he knew.

Bob is survived by his wife Marcella, one son, Robert Jr. (Bobby), and his children: Rob (Raphie) Koss III, Justin (Heather) Koss, and Angie (Tim) Werner; four daughters and their families: Susan (Randy) Miller and their children: Jennifer (Jon) Kloehn, Sarah (Josh) Riley, Matthew (Amanda) Miller, and Jason (Kasey) Miller; Margie (the late Danny) Windsor and their children: Jake Windsor, Sam (Rosemary) Windsor, and Mike (Erin) Windsor; Jeanette (Clayton Anderson) Smith, Nathaniel(NJ) and Elijah (Eli) Smith; Sharon (John)Schoolcraft and their children: Jessica (Jeff) Senst and Jamie (Mike) Niedfeldt; Cindy (Duane “Chub”) Rommel and their children Dawson and Josie. He is further survived by, two sisters, Irene (the late Dick) Remus and Ruth (the late Sylvan) Mahlum. He is also survived by 32 great- grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, 3 minor children, Kenneth, Lorie, and Michael; one great grandchild, Reznor Neidfeldt; 3 brothers, Wendell (Delores) Koss, William (Ester)Koss, Howard (Lorraine)Koss and 2 sisters, Dorothy (John) Swanson and Marie (Jim) Holthaus.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at the Mindoro Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Cindy Arndt will officiate. Burial will follow in the Farmington Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
